I have watched a good portion of the listed Superbowl commercials, and frankly, I was disappointed in the variety and quality. Most were car commercials, Pepsi Max or Doritos commercials, and they were distastefully done. Some were not really funny at all, or they were just boring. The three that caught my attention, though, was the Chevy Glee promo, The Carma Bridgestone commercial, and the American Families commercial. The only reason I liked the Glee promo is because I love the show, but I really didn’t think the commercial was funny. The American Families commercial was highly entertaining, though, because it was a glimpse of shows that everybody loves or used to love. It was cute, appropriate and entertaining. The Carma Bridgestone commercial was my absolute favorite for many reasons. It was something as mundane as a tire company advertisement, yet highly entertaining. It was kind of adorable and hilarious, and the man’s reaction was just the best thing. They beaver was obviously very cool. Both Doritos commercials were sort of adorable and comical, like they usually are. Out of all the commercials, though, I think the Stella Artois commercial, Crying Jean, was the worst. There was really no point in the whole gist of it, I think it was just kind of stupid.
I agree with you that a good portion of the superbowl commercials were dissapointing. Some commercials were good such as the the Volkswagen commercial. I enjoyed the Volkwagen commercial, with people punching each other at the sight of a Volkswagen. It was relatable and showed a variety of people participating in the game, including an ambulance driver, a woman in labor, and the Amish. At the end, Stevie Wonder punched Tracy Morgan when a VW passed by which made it funny. Although, there were some dissapointing commercials. Some of my least favorite commercials were by Doritos. Like the Dog Gets Revenge and Weight Room, I didn’t find the humor very amusing. It was stupid and was not funny. Also, the Go Daddy commercials were very annoying. When these premiered during the Super Bowl last year, they were very effective at catching viewers’ attention, but this year it was like an old, worn-out joke that you already knew the answer to.

I agree with you when you say that none of them were outstanding or brilliant. While some were humorous and witty, it ended at that. I liked the Volkswagen commercials, but as for the others, most were confusing, unclear, and messy. "Also, the Go Daddy commercials were very annoying. When these premiered during the Super Bowl last year, they were very effective at catching viewers’ attention, but this year it was like an old, worn-out joke that you already knew the answer to." This is true. Even if something is hilarious the frist time it's not always as funny the 10th time. The point of Super Bowl Commercials is to come up with witty and brilliant commercials no one would think of and commercials that make the listener want to buy the product they are selling whether it be a car or a package of Doritos. THe best ones are usually the simplest ones, with the most focused ideas. Hopefully next Super Bowl they will differ in variety and have more humor and brilliance.

I agree, the commercials were very disappointing. There was not much in the variety quality in them. Most were boring and left me wondering – okay what was the point of that? IT would benefit more people if the commercials featured something the people could relate too. Like, how you said that you enjoyed the Glee commercial because you like the show. The American Families commercial was very well done and could connect a lot of people because it would ignite conversation about past shows. The idea of the Carma Bridgestone commercial (although I have not seen that one, I might have to look it up now) is awesome. It is a tire commercial? Yet they somehow found a way to make it highly entertaining. It is that creativity and those ideas that make watching the Superbowl Commercials a fun thing to do when usually everyone hates commercials. Doritos commercials are always funny to me. I agree with Rachel in saying that the Go Daddy commercials are very annoying. That was something I meant to add to my post. IT is great advertising and marketing that makes you remember certain commercials over others. Next time you are thinking, you might happen to remember the Coke commercial you saw during the Superbowl, and all of a sudden, you wouldn’t mind having a package of Doritos. These commercials have an interesting psychological affect.
